1. What is a cookie?

Some information described here is stored using your browser's local storage instead of a cookie (for example, your chosen interface language) — we cover both together as they serve the same purpose: remembering something about your visit.
2. Why we use them
We use a small number of cookies and local-storage entries to keep the platform working, remember your preferences, and understand aggregate usage of the public website — not to build advertising profiles.
3. Cookie categories
3.1 Strictly necessary. Session and authentication cookies that keep you signed in to your institutional account and enforce tenant-scoped access. The platform cannot function without these.
3.2 Functional / Preferences. A local-storage entry that remembers your chosen interface language (English, Français, or Kiswahili) so you don't have to reselect it each visit.
3.3 Analytics. Aggregate, non-identifying usage analytics on the public marketing site, used to understand which pages are useful and where visitors drop off.
